OSSINING, N.Y. – A kitchen showroom is likely to be housed on the first floor of the historic Ossining Trust Bank condominium building at the northwest corner of Main Street and Central Avenue.
"We do have an interested buyer who would like to relocate a kitchen showroom into that space. We are in contract now and hope to close soon," said Darryle Hawes, a co-owner the TB condo building at an August 9 village work session.
Peter Dichera, the prospective buyer of the first floor space, said he would rather not discuss details of his company, Pedichi Kitchens & Baths, and his plans until the contracts are completely done.
"Some details still have to be ironed out with the specs. A deal isn't done until it's done," Dichera said.
The Ossining TB condominiums opened in the fall of 2009 with 12 apartments for sale at starting prices of $173,000 for one-bedroom units and $212,000 for two-bedroom units.
Eight of the 12 units are currently occupied, and four are still for sale, Hawes said last week. A sign posted at the TB condos said on Monday that nine units had been sold and three were for sale.
Hawes and his partner, John Seracino, had hoped to attract a restaurant to the first floor of the five-story historic building that used to be the Ossining Trust Bank, but they couldn't find any interested restaurant owners.
"Restauranteurs are not in the mood," Hawes said.
Eric Schatz, the realtor for the TB condos building said Dichera is looking forward to coming to Ossining and likes that the space he is purchasing is inside a landmark building.
Dichera's kitchen showroom, with about five or six kitchens, is likely to open in the fall, Hawes said.
