OSSINING, N.Y. St. Ann's Church is accepting donations of turkey, canned vegetables, boxed mashed potatoes, stuffing, corn bread mix, canned yams, canned cranberries and gravy for its Thanksgiving baskets which are given to local residents.
"We give out the food to people starting on Monday, Nov. 21," said Sister Eileen Finnerty, a pastoral associate at St. Ann's Church, located at 25 Eastern Ave. "We ask people to call to let us know if they want it, and there are no questions asked. We take their name, address and telephone number and tell them when they can come and pick it up."
Food donations should be made no later than this Sunday, parish officials said. Last year, St. Ann's gave out about 140 Thanksgiving baskets, Finnerty said.
