Search Resumes For Plane Carrying Tarrytown Native, Sons

The search for any survivors on a private plane that went missing early this week with a Westchester native and New York City CEO, her two young sons and a pilot aboard resumed Thursday morning, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.

A search crew aboard a helicopter near the Bahamas found debris while looking for the twin-engine plane in which  40-year-old Jennifer Blumin, a Tarrytown native, and her sons, Theodore, 3, and Phineas, 4. as well as the pilot. Blumin is the CEO and founder of Skylight Group, a Manhattan firm that finds venues for top fashion shows.

An air intake plug, part of a seat, and fuel from the plane were found Wednesday in a debris field in the Bermuda Triangle, the U.S. Coast Guard said.

The Coast Guard search started after Miami air traffic control lost radar and radio contact with the MU-2B airplane with the tail number N220N shortly after 2 p.m. Tuesday.

The plane was en route from Puerto Rico to Florida.

“We can confirm that the plane carrying Jennifer Blumin and members of her family has gone missing after taking off from Puerto Rico yesterday,” Skyline Group said in a statement, according to Newsday . “Her family is working with investigators and we politely ask that you respect their privacy at this time.”

Blumin was in a relationship with New York City architect James Ramsey, the father of her two children and the head designer of the RAAD Studio, according to a New York Times feature.
