Pedestrian Hit in Parking Lot in Briarcliff

BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. – A Carmel man was hit by a car last week while walking in the A&P supermarket parking lot on Pleasantville Road, police said.

According to police, Thomas Arkins was struck at around midnight by a Jeep Cherokee driven by Steve Giordano of Ossining. Giordano allegedly struck a parking lot barrier and a shopping cart as well. Arkins was taken to Phelps Memorial Hospital with bruises and no summonses were issued.

Elena Marcus of Katonah told police Wednesday that her credit card was stolen from her car, which was parked at the Trump National Golf Club in Briarcliff in August, and someone charged $9,500 on the stolen card. There were no suspects, police said.

A mother told police Wednesday that at around 8:30 p.m. her teenage son's white iPhone was stolen while he was at Briarcliff High School. A locator program for the phone showed that it was somewhere in Tarrytown, police said.
