At a public meeting Wednesday, the board will make a motion to table a resolution to defund the roundabout. The meeting is at 7 p.m. at Village Hall at 16 Croton Avenue, with the roundabout discussion beginning at 7:30 p.m.

The village board is also planning a community meeting on April 6 at the Ossining Public Library.

The proposed downtown roundabout would be constructed at the intersection of Main, Spring and Brandeth Streets and Central Avenue.

On March 8, the village rejected a petition gathered by the Greater Ossining Chamber of Commerce to force a resolution on the roundabout, citing several irregularities.

The chamber has feared a roundabout would negatively impact local businesses. Three former mayors, Miguel Hernandez, John Perillo and William Hanauer oppose the roundabout.

Mayor Victoria Gearity said the intersection needs to be brought up to current safety standards.
