Ossining Police Seek Help on Purse Snatching

OSSINING, N.Y. – Ossining Police are asking for help in locating two suspects who allegedly robbed an Ossining woman at knife point at around 8:00 p.m. Feb. 3 near the Ossining Train Station.

The unidentified woman told police that she had been walking in the vicinity of Secor Road on the way to the train station, when two men approached her, according to a press release. The woman said “she passed two black males on the sidewalk (and) one male walked alongside her and the other behind her.” The woman reportedly became “fearful and moved into the roadway to avoid them,” according to the release.

The woman told police that one of the men displayed a knife and she attempted to run, but was then confronted by one of the men, who then stole her purse and ran. The woman said she last saw both males running east toward Main Street, according to the release.

The two men are described as wearing dark clothing, being around 18 years old and one of them appeared to have a red hood or hat. Those with information on the suspects are asked to call the Village of Ossining Police Department at (914) 941-5700.
