Nonna, Smith to Square Off in Mt. Pleasant Debate

MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. – On Thursday evening, residents from Mount Pleasant and around Westchester County will have the chance to see the District 3 County Legislator candidates square off in a public debate.

In an event sponsored by the Mount Pleasant Rotary Club, two-time Democrat incumbent John Nonna and Republican challenger Michael Smith will exchange views on multiple county and local issues at the Mount Pleasant Community Center in Valhalla.

Nonna is looking to win his third consecutive term as District 3 Legislator and is a previous trustee member and mayor in the village of Pleasantville.  Smith is a certified public accountant and the Chief Financial Officer of Berkeley Educational Services.  He has also served as the president of the Valhalla School Board.

District 3 encompasses all or parts of the towns of Mount Pleasant, Greenburgh, and North Castle along with the villages of Pleasantville, Sleepy Hollow and parts of Briarcliff Manor.

The event is free and open to the public.  It is set to begin at 7 p.m.
