- Eighteen Briarcliff High School students recently were honored as part of the National Merit Scholarship program. Seven students were named National Merit Scholarship semifinalists and 11 were named National Merit Commended Students this year.
- The U.S. Department of Transportation has approved a record loan of up to $1.6 billion for construction of a new Tappan Zee Bridge to the Lower Hudson Valley.
- A 21-year old Brooklyn woman is being charged for robbery in the third degree, a class D felony, after being accused of stealing a cigar and punching a clerk when he attempted to stop her.
- For the ninth Halloween in a row, Westchester County has mandated that all sex offenders on probation attend an educational meeting as a way to improve children's safety.
