- Eighteen Briarcliff High School students recently were honored as part of the National Merit Scholarship program . Seven students were named National Merit Scholarship semifinalists and 11 were named National Merit Commended Students this year.
- The U.S. Department of Transportation has approved a record loan of up to $1.6 billion for construction of a new Tappan Zee Bridge to the Lower Hudson Valley.
- A 21-year old Brooklyn woman is being charged for robbery in the third degree, a class D felony, after being accused of stealing a cigar and punching a clerk when he attempted to stop her.
- For the ninth Halloween in a row, Westchester County has mandated that all sex offenders on probation attend an educational meeting as a way to improve children's safety.
