  • For the second year in a row, Briarcliff High School's spring musical has received eight nominations for the 2013 Metropolitan High School Theater Awards. This year's production of "The Music Man" matches last year's production of "Sugar," which received eight nominations in the 2012 Metropolitan High School Theater Awards.
  • New Rochelle police found a three-year-old male pit bull on the brink of death from dehydration in the van of his owner, who has been charged with animal cruelty, said Ernesto Lungaro, director of the Briarcliff Manor-based SPCA of Westchester's Humane Law Enforcement (HLE) Division. Anyone who wishes to report animal cruelty or neglect can call the SPCA of Westchester’s HLE Division at 914- 941-7797. 
  • Hundreds of residents learned to avoid coyote incidents from New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) biologist Kevin Clarke and Frank Vicente of “Save Wild Dogs.” The two addressed the apparent increase of coyotes in Westchester County Wednesday night in a jam-packed New Castle Community Center, giving two different perspectives on how local residents can best protect their own pets, children and themselves from the wild canine.
