Mount Kisco Medical Group Proposes Facility in Bedford

BEDFORD, N.Y.-- Mount Kisco Medical Group, which has locations throughout Westchester, is proposing an urgent care facility in Bedford.

The group met with the Bedford Planning Board on Tuesday, proposing a 20,000 square foot location at 800 Bedford Road in Bedford Hills. The medical group would be renovating the interior of the building, which .  is owned by North Bedford Road Associations Inc.

The medical group is looking for a waiver of the site plan approval because they would just be renovating the interior, according to its application.

The group's urgent care facilities are walk-in facilities open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., 365 days a year and can handle a range of illnesses from colds and flu to rashes to Lyme disease.

"These centers are considered safe, quick and less expensive alternatives to the emergency room," the group wrote in its application.

The center said one to two physicians, one to two mid level providers, two to four nurses, a front desk staffer and an X-ray technician are on hand at any given time.

"Patients are seen rapidly and treated swiftly," according to the appkication. "Average waiting time is between 10 and 15 minutes."

The medical group said it is rare for more than eight patients to be on had at any given time and are requesting 18 parking spaces.

Mount Kisco Medical Group has Westchester locations in Mount Kisco, Briarcliff Manor, Ossining, Yorktown, Cortlandt, Croton-on-Hudson, Katonah, Peekskill, Rye and Somers.
