Mailbox Destroyed On Aspinwall Road In Briarcliff

BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. – A mailbox on Aspinwall Road and the mail it contained were destroyed, possibly by fireworks, police said.

No suspects have been found for the incident, which occurred sometime Sunday night or early Monday, police said.

The victim reported that some papers from the Internal Revenue Service were destroyed and would have to be replaced, police said.

Also in Briarcliff:

- Fire extinguishers were taken from inside some buses parked at 51 Old Route 100 sometime over the weekend, and let out inside and outside the buses, police said. No suspects have been found, police said.

- 18-year-old, Shavoyah Murrell, turned himself into police on July 15 at around 7:15 p.m. for an outstanding warrant that was issued because he violated his probation, police said. Murrell was released of his own recognizance with a return court date of July 27.
