League of Women Voters Has Helpful Online Guide

OSSINING, N.Y. – The League of Women Voters has put together an online guide designed to help voters deciding who to vote for in the upcoming November elections.

Aside from general voting information, including how to register to vote and a polling place finder, Vote411.org also has an online voter's guide that contains specific information about candidates. The voter's guide asks you to enter your address and it will come up with a list of all the races and candidates for the Nov. 8 elections.

The League of Women Voters asks all candidates for their address, campaign phone number, education, personal or campaign website, prior civic service and a statement that identifies and addresses "what their approach will be to the most important issues facing their office."

If you haven't yet registered to vote, you still have time. The deadline for registration is Oct. 14. If you are registering by mail, the envelope must be postmarked by Oct. 14 and it must be received by the county Board of Elections by Oct. 19.
