iPod, Vodka Stolen From Jeep in Briarcliff

BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. – Someone stole an iPod, a GPS, binoculars, an umbrella, loose change and a bottle of Ketel One vodka from an unlocked Jeep Cherokee, police said.

Fred Scobodin of Hirst Road reported that the items were taken fro his vehicle some time between midnight and 1 p.m. on Nov. 24, police said. There were no witnesses or suspects.

Also in Briarcliff:

- Two snow tires wrapped in plastic were taken from the driveway of a residence at 809 Long Hill Road, police said.

Michael Yurch reported that the two tires for his Porsche were left at the edge of his driveway, behind a fence, police said. The tires were taken on Nov. 25, some time before 1:30 p.m.

- A mailbox was stolen from 599 Pleasantville Road some time between 9:45 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Nov. 25, police said. There were no witnesses or suspects.

- A resident of Orchard Road reported to police that someone had entered a vacant home on Holbrook Lane through the back door, police said.

When officers arrived at the residence, the man who had entered the home told police that he had been hired by the bank to do work on the premises, and showed the officers paperwork to confirm what he said.
