How Briarcliff Board of Trustees Works

BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. – Need to find your way around Village Hall? The Daily Briarcliff is beginning a series called “How Your Village Works” to help explain what goes on at Briarcliff Village Hall and what you need to know. Our first look is at the village board. Tuesday we'll look at the planning board and Wednesday the zoning board.

The Briarcliff board of trustees consists of the mayor and five trustees who are elected to two-year terms.

The board meets the first and third Wednesday of the month. Agendas for meetings are available the Friday before a meeting.

If someone has a question on the agenda prior to the meeting, they can call the village manager at 914-944-2782 or the village clerk at 914-941-4801.

Public comment is allowed during meetings. It is limited to four minutes per person during public comment periods of meetings, and one minute per person when discussing regular agenda items. For public hearings, there is no time limit for public comments.

Minutes of meetings are available on the village's website and in the village office. Minutes for a meeting are generally approved at the next meeting two weeks later, and then put up on the website.
