BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. A "Harvest in the Village" festival with sidewalk sales, a petting zoo, food and beverage samples and more is set for Saturday in downtown Briarcliff.
"A lot of merchants on the block will be out in front of their stores doing things that might they might normally be doing inside," said Donald Borho, co-owner of the Wondrous Things lifestyle gift store on Pleasantville Road, who is on the planning committee for the event.
The festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is the third annual Harvest festival sponsored by the Briarcliff Chamber of Commerce.
A "kid zone" in the Wells Fargo parking lot will feature face painting, arts and crafts, a clown, a juggler and an air castle. Across the street by Holbrook Cottage there will be an area with furry farm animals including a lamb, goat and rabbits.
Live music will be provided by Mike and Miriam Risko who own a music school and store in Ossining.
Fall festival food will include apples and cider served by Holbrook cottage and cotton candy.
Businesses participating in the festival include downtown Pleasantville Road locales as well as some businesses outside the downtown area including A Maze In Pottery, Atria Briarcliff Manor senior living community, and Main Street Connect, the company that runs this news site.
