The planned work sector for Con Ed’s gas main upgrade along Pleasantville Road runs roughly south of the Post Office to the intersection (“bump-out”); south on South State a few hundred feet, and up Elm Road for a short distance. Painted “mark-outs” line the affected areas. Starting this week, test pits will be made to verify and locate existing services. The village is looking to accelerate the intersection/”bump-out” work portion quickly, allowing for extended work hours during the day and overnight to complete the intersection before the start of the school year.
