Christmas Fair, Songs For Weekend Around Briarcliff

OSSINING, N.Y. – As the holidays approach, there will be a Christmas fair, the dedication of a Christmas crib and a performance of holiday-themed songs this weekend. Here are the details:

Friday

Old Mill Singers Holiday Concert, Friday 8 p.m., Saturday 8 p.m.

The Ossining-based community chorus will perform holiday-themed songs, including "African Star Carol," "Hanukkah Madrigal," "Silver Bells" and Beethoven's "Hallelujah." Santa and his elves will be at the show as the audience is invited to sing along. The show will be at Ossining High School. Tickets cost $15 for regular adults and $10 for senior citizens and children up to 12.

Westchester Collaborative Theater Winterfest 2011, Friday 7:30 p.m., Saturday 2 p.m.

The Ossining-based theater group will perform a reading of eight original one-act plays in the Ossining Library's Budarz Theater at 53 Croton Ave. A "talk back" with writers, directors and cast members will take place after the Saturday performance. Admission is free.

Saturday

Dedication of the Christmas Crib, 2 p.m.

The annual dedication of the Ossining Christmas Crib will take place at the corner of Croton Avenue and Todd Place. Tickets for a 50/50 raffle will be available to offset the cost of maintaining the crib. All are welcome.

St. Theresa School Christmas Fair, Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Holiday vendors will be selling baked goods, Christmas trees, poinsettias, holiday decorations and more at St. Theresa School at 300 Dalameny Rd. in Briarcliff. There will also be breakfast with Santa and a Pick-A-Ticket raffle table. A babysitting room will be available.
