Chili Cook Off At Briarcliff Thursday Festival

BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. – Downtown businesses will be hosting another First Thursday street festival on Thursday, and this time the theme is going to be Texas Hoedown, Chili Cook Off.

"Visitors will taste chilis and vote for their favorite. Those visitors who voted for the winner will be entered into a drawing to win a 'Flavors of the Southwest' gourmet basket," Briarcliff Recreation Department officials wrote in a press release.

In addition to chili, downtown Pleasantville Road businesses will also be offering discounts on store items including back-to-school items, free refreshments, and special menu samples, including Texas brisket sliders, baked beans and apple cider donuts.

At AV Hair Design, employees will keep with the southwest theme by offering feathered hair extensions, including extensions for dogs.

The "Night Lights" festival, organized by the Briarcliff Manor Chamber of Commerce, will take place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

As usual, live music will be performed by Mike and Miriam Risko of the Mike Risko Music School in Ossining.
