Briarcliff Village Election Set for Tuesday

BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. – Briarcliff Manor Board of Trustees candidates Mark Pohar and Robert Murray are running unopposed Tuesday in the village election.

Polls for the annual village election are scheduled to open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Registered voters are asked to vote at the Youth Center on 5 Van lu Van Road. Registration for voting in this year’s election ended March 10, but Village Clerk Christine Dennett said all those registered won’t even need ID Tuesday to vote.

“As long as they’re registered, they’re fine,” Dennett said. “They’ll have to give their names to one of the people we have working but other than that it’s pretty simple.”

Pohar and Murray received the nominations from the People’s Caucus of Briarcliff Manor in January. With the filing deadline passed, Dennett confirmed that Pohar and Murray are the only two candidates on Tuesday’s ballot. Dennett added that there were no other ballot issues or other races for Briarcliff Manor Tuesday.

To assist residents in getting to know their candidates, Pohar and Murray were both previously asked to fill out candidate questionnaires published by The Daily Briarcliff
