BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. – Hundreds of Westchester residents are expected to run, walk and march in Briarcliff Manor on Monday in honor of Memorial Day.
Briarcliff American Legion Post 1054 will lead the annual parade at noon Monday through downtown. Dozens of local groups also marching in the parade include the Briarcliff Manor Fire Department, Girl and Boy Scout troops, Little League baseball teams and other school and village officials and organizations. The parade steps off at noon down Pleasantville Road, then down Larch Road, Oak Road and Ash Road before returning to Law Memorial Park for a ceremony.
The Friends of the Briarcliff Manor Public Library are also set to host a 5K Run/2 Mile Walk at 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Law Park Pavilion. More than 150 people from all over Westchester have already registered for the fifth annual Memorial Day Run/Walk to support the library.
Registration on event day is $30 for residents 13 and up, and $20 for 12 and under. For more information, visit the Friends of the Briarcliff Manor Public Library website .
