"Maybe … just maybe … we will see the sun and warmer temperatures this weekend and into next week. Everything we have been advising you of the “Big Melt Down” still holds," Briarcliff Village Manor Philip E. Zegarelli told residents in his weekly updates.

Zegarelli advised residents to look around their property and drainage areas and down spouts.

"When all the snow and ice finally melts, the run-off will be significant: remember nature and laws of gravity will rule," he said. "Be sure to identify where storm sewers and catch basins are along your property line.  Please make sure that these areas are open and free of ice clog. Daylight melting will probably re-freeze overnight".
