BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. – Village Manager Philip Zegarelli recently released the following information:-- Pool hours remain daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and students entering grades 5-8 are reminded to register for the Youth Center’s Annual “Back with a Splash” Pool & Dance Party from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11 at the Village Pool. The cost is $15 per Youth Center member if you pre-register or $20 at the door.

-- Mark your calendars and plan to join us for Community Day 2015 Saturday, Sept. 12. The Village Pool will be open from non to 6 p.m. for one last chance to swim and no permits will be required. New for this year will be youth and adult “Bubble Soccer” from 3-6 p.m. and the traditional Community Day activities will be from4-10 p.m. in Law Park. Fireworks will begin at approximately 8:30 p.m.

-- The Recreation Department’s Fall program brochure will be available for viewing and downloading from the village website by Sept. 1. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m Sept. 16 both online and in-person at the recreation office. Visit the recreation page of the village website for more information.

-- The art show "Under the Microscope – Northern Star Quilters’ Guild" is on display on the second floor of the library through Monday.

-- The Community Center work is moving well and as a result of tying in and expanding various utilities and eventually a stand-alone generator for the entire facility, various library services have had to be temporarily adjusted during this phase. Sorry to all for this convenience and added noise but there is no other way to effect this. We are assembling fans to help cool the library during this work since the air conditioning will be off for the tie-in work. The next notable work will be the construction of east- and west-facing dormers, which will expand the available space in the new second floor of the Community Center.
