BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. – Briarcliff Manor residents spent Tuesday assessing storm damage after Hurricane Sandy hit the area.

Thousands in the village were without power Tuesday, according to Con Edison. Village offices and the Briarcliff Manor Public Library were both closed.

Several roads and parkways were also closed in the village because of downed trees and wires. Officials are urging residents to stay inside and off the roads.
