BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- Hydrant flushing in certain parts of Briarcliff will continue until Friday afternoon, according to Village Manager Philip Zegarelli’s latest report.
The flushing started Monday in these areas, he said: Pleasantville Road (from South State Road to the high school); Buckhout, Woodfield, Jackson, Horsechestnut, Ingham, Simpson, Valentine Oak, Ash and Zuydhoek streets; Larch Road, Dogwood Lane, Stephenson Terrace and Round Hill Drive.
Flushing causes water to become discolored but, Zegarelli said, lab tests have shown that it is safe to use.
However, he advised residents to avoid doing their laundry while flushing is under way.
