Briarcliff Hires Trapper To Contain Coyote Surge, Village Manager Says

BRIARCLIFF, N.Y. -- The Village of Briarcliff is doing something ahead of an anticipated spring coyote surge.

Village Manager Philip Zegarelli announced the village has engaged the services of a wildlife trapper to identify, trap and assist in the coyote removal. The trapper is registered with the state, Zegarelli said.

A wildlife survey is being undertaken in known areas of coyote sightings, including in parks with heavily wooded areas and accompanying spots of undergrowth, Zegarelli said.

Zegarelli reminded residents that dogs must be leashed in village parks.
