Briarcliff Announces Updates For Weekend Activities

BRIARCLIFF, N.Y. – The following updates have been announced for the Town of Briarcliff:

The Briarcliff Manor Fire Department will be holding its Open House/Recruit NY event Saturday, April 25, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Central Fire Headquarters. The public is invited to tour the station and fire/ambulance apparatus. Fire-extinguisher demonstrations will go on throughout the day as well as a smoke house demonstration for kids.

“The Internet for Photographers: A Workshop” will be held Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Internet's most popular and useful aspects for photographers will be discussed, including communication, inspiration, community, buying and selling, problem-solving, subject matter expertise, finding photogenic locations, syncing photos on digital devices and personal galleries and/or place of business. Jim Christensen, a photographer and member of the Westchester Photographic Society, will be the speaker. After the talk, an hour of one-on-one consulting with the speaker will be offered. Briarcliff Congregational Church’s Annual Rummage Sale will be held on Saturday, April 25, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 30 South State Road. In addition, there will be lunch available and a bake sale.

Volunteer Drivers Needed. RideConnect, a not-for-profit program of Family Services of Westchester, is seeking volunteers to provide rides for older adults and the disabled of Westchester County. These rides enable our seniors and disabled to remain active in their communities and to continue to lead fulfilling lives. A special Board of Trustees meeting to adopt the 2015-2016 Village of Briarcliff Manor budget and address limited agenda items will be held Wednesday, April 29, at 7:30 p.m.

The Westchester County Mobile Passport Unit is returning to Briarcliff and will be in front of Village Hall Thursday, May 7, between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. No cash payments are permitted; all fees must be paid by check, money order or credit card. Unpaid water bills still outstanding as of Friday, May 1, will be transferred to the TOS Assessor and all amounts and penalties will be added to Village of Briarcliff 2015-2016 Real Estate Tax Bills. There will also be a fee of $50. Residents are reminded to check their balance and bring their accounts up to date.
