BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. External auditors from the O'Connor Davies accounting firm found that the Briarcliff school district had no deficit spending and no fraud during the 2011 audit process.
"The school district in this difficult economy was able to have positive revenues over expenditures which enabled the district to replenish revenues," said Susan Barossi, one of the firm partners in charge of auditing the district, at a Board of Education meeting last week. "The district maintained an excellent bond rating which requires a lot of work."
Two minor fund excesses that were found in the school district were for the school lunch fund and the classroom activity fund, Barossi said.
To take care of the excess classroom funds, teachers should tell students leaders of clubs to spend money, Barossi said.
