BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. Atria Briarcliff Manor senior living community has planned a marriage and anniversary celebration for Sunday to celebrate the recent marriage of a staff member and the 67th anniversary of two residents.
Ryan Linehan, Atria's Engage Life director, recently got married to Ashling Baker-Linehan, and Atria will have a mock marriage ceremony for them.
Residents Ken and Viola Weber met when Viola was 12 and Ken was 15, and the two will celebrate their 67th wedding anniversary.
The Webers both lived in Pleasant Point in the Bronx when they were young and they met at a church Christmas pageant. Viola was dressed as the angel Gabriel, and the image stuck in Ken's mind so that when he later on forgot Viola's name in high school, he called her Angel.
Ken Weber said the secret of his long, happy marriage is "a mutual agreement on how we treat each other based on respect," while Viola Weber said "It's the grace of God."
The Webers have a son and daughter who live in Chappaqua and five grandchildren.
The marriage and anniversary celebration will take place at 3 p.m. on Sunday at Atria Briarcliff Manor at 1025 Pleasantville Rd.
