PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- As many as 20 people were reportedly arrested Saturday during the latest protest against the construction of the Algonquin pipeline.
Dozens gathered at the Spectra construction site in Peekskill in the morning, many carrying signs. Some chanted in unisons, "Arrest Spectra, not the people."
The protest caused a traffic backup.
Spectra Energy's Alqonquin Incremental Market (AIM) project would involve building the pipeline close to Indian Point facilities in Buchanan.
