YMCA officials said the official recognition for Maglietta would be announced on March 28 at the organizations general assembly at the Marriott Marquis in Manhattan. Officials said in a press release that Maglietta earned the award for doing more than making personal financial contributions or being a member on the YMCAs board of directors.
Sal has been instrumental in helping our organization raise millions of dollars each year through our annual Strong Kids Campaign, said Ellen Murphy, senior director of public relations & communications for YMCA in an e-mail. The campaign goes to help thousands of kids and families gain access to vital YMCA program and services.

The YMCA is an organization I am proud to be associated with because its open to everyone, promotes positive values and proactively supports kids, families and communities through a variety of programs, Maglietta said in the release.
Maglietta works as executive vice president of US Bank. Richard Payne, vice chair of US Bank Wholesale Banking, said in the release that Magliettas work was an example of the companys dedication to giving back.
