BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. - James V. Rocco, a former sports director of Briarcliff Manor, died Nov. 2 at the age of 97.
He was born on Feb. 15, 1914 to the late Frank and Angelina Rocco. He married the late Edith Sullo on Jun. 9, 1940 at Assumption Church.
A former White Plains resident, Mr. Rocco worked as caddy master and sports director at Scarsdale Golf Club for 70 years before retiring in 2001.
He is survived by his son Anthony Rocco and his wife Anna of Briarcliff Manor, along with three grandsons and a great-grandson. He was predeceased by his son James Rocco and four siblings.
Visitings hours are from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at McMahon, Lyon & Hartnett Funeral Home in White Plains. A funeral mass will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Mt. Carmel Church, followed by a reception at the Scarsdale Golf Club.
