BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y -- Robyn O'Brien is a regular "Wheel of Fortune" viewer and on Thursday night the Briarcliff Manor woman will be a contestant.
O'Brien taped her episode earlier this year and it will air at 7:30 p.m. Thursday on ABC.
"I have always been a major fan of 'Wheel of Fortune' ever since I was a kid," she wrote on her contestant blog .
O'Brien and her husband Jerry play along with the contestants and he encouraged her to audition to be on the show. She did so in Brooklyn in December.
"Each evening I rushed home to check the mail, and after many days of nothing, a few days before Christmas there it was," she wrote of waiting to hear whether she would be on the show. "An envelope with the unmistakable logo in the upper left hand corner. I had made it into the contestant pool!!!"
O'Brien told only a few people that she would be a contestant "as I didn’t want to jinx it."
When she got the call to be on she started preparing.
"I had to be in tip top shape! Then I had to get my hair done and buy a new outfit it’s not every day that you go on national television," she wrote. "A girl’s gotta look her best! And after two weeks of intense excitement and anticipation, it was time to board the plane to LA."
See how she did Thursday.
