Clinton held a large advantage over other political figures in the Empire State, including Gov. Andrew Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill DeBlasio who both stood at 8 percent in the poll. The leading vote-getter in the state, however, was "none of them" at 45 percent.
The former secretary of state is the New Year's date of choice for 43 percent of women, 30 percent of men, 52 percent of Democrats and 45 percent of voters 18 to 29 years old. Only 15 percent of Republicans chose Clinton, according to the poll.
"Their (voters') favorite New Year's date would be the lady from Chappaqua," Maurice Carroll, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll said in a statement. "Who knows? Maybe she can return the favor some day with an invitation to the White House."
