The workshop will be held at Club Fit in Briarcliff Manor on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Preregistration is requested and necessary in order to receive materials from the instructor. Register at YTAYoga.com. Please bring a yoga mat and arrive early to check in and set up.

During the three-hour workshop, Mr. Black will guide participants through an exploration of the transformative practices of kriya yoga and yoga nidra. The workshop will introduce Chankramanam (yogic roving or movement), a practice of awareness and presence in all activities, including walking and eating.

Together these practices form the essential foundation of Kriya Yoga, one of the most powerful methods for yogic development. Mr. Black will also present pranayama breathing techniques to relax the body and prepare for yoga nidra (yogic sleep), a systematic method for moving into deeper realms of consciousness similar to the dream state. Glenn Black, a renowned and highly respected yoga teacher with 40-plus years' intensive study of yoga, meditation and movement, began Kriya Yoga studies in the mid 1970s with the Bihar School's Swami Vivekananda.
