There will be a mix of live music and entertainment, including Annie and the Natural Wonder Band and the Solar Punch Band, as well as environmental exhibits, a local farmers market, free raffles, a compost bin and a rain barrel sale.

Residents can also bring any personal papers that they would like to shred in the county’s Mobile Paper Shredder. A highlight of the day’s festivities will be the presentation of the county’s Earth Day Awards for local individual environmental achievement, as well as awards to several municipalities for high performing waste reduction and recycling programs.

Astorino will present the awards to the nearly 30 honorees at approximately 11 a.m.

“I hope many residents will come join me at Croton Point Park for a fun day celebrating Earth Day and sharing ideas on how we can strengthen our natural environment,” said Astorino.

Croton Point Park which once occupied the county’s landfill, is a 508-acre park situated on a peninsula on the east shore of the Hudson River, accessible via the Croton Point Ave. Exit off `Route 9 in Croton-on Hudson.

Admission into the park is free for this event only.
