YONKERS, N.Y. -- Thousands flocked to the Cross County Shopping Center in Yonkers on Saturday night for its annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony -- the first in Westchester.

The event featured a night-time light show with synchronizing holiday music and Santa’s Christmas tree.

It included a concert by the New York City Swing Band; strolling characters; children’s activities including a candy station, and face painting.
