Briarcliff Flag Day Ceremony

School children and community members are welcome to attend the annual Flag Day ceremony in Law Park next to the Pavilion this Thursday, June 14th at 6pm. The Boy Scouts of Troop 18 will lead a brief ceremony honoring our flag and attendees are encouraged to participate in placing old flags upon the fire. Complimentary light refreshments and BBQ food will be served courtesy of the Briarcliff Cub Scouts. Rain or shine. Members of the community are encouraged to bring their old flags for burning or to email bmscouts@gmail.com to arrange for a pick up. ...."The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning." -- United States Code.
