Valhalla Residents Asked To Conserve Water

VALHALLA, N.Y. – Valhalla residents on the Grasslands campus are being asked to conserve water through Wednesday morning because the New York City Department of Environment Protection (DEP) will shut down the Catskill Aqueduct for 25 hours starting 11 p.m. Monday night.

The shutdown is occurring because of high turbidity in the Catskill Aqueduct caused by recent storms. Officials are asking residents to conserve by limiting non-essential water use, including watering their lawns or washing their cars.

There is no boil water restriction in effect. According to the DEP, water will be safe to drink throughout the conservation period, which is expected to last until Wednesday morning.
