BRIARCLIFF, N.Y. -- A group of students from Briarcliff High School love to dance, but they also love to help raise money and awareness for the Ossining Children's Center, by hosting their second annual Dancing for the Children fundraiser on Sunday, April 24.

This dance show, at 2:30 p.m. in the Briarcliff High School Francis G. Willis Auditorium, will feature performances from eight dance studios and ensembles in the Westchester area, and all of the profits from the ticket sales will go towards the OCC.

The following studios will be performing:

  • Dance NYAAD
  • Westchester Dance Academy
  • Steffi Nossen
  • Natya Anubhava Academy of Classical Indian Dance
  • O'Sullivan School of Irish Dancing
  • United Martial Arts Center Demo Team
  • Sri Baratha Kamalaya
  • Bollywood Axion
The Ossining Children’s Center provides care and education for children, ages 8 weeks to 12 years, creating a foundation for children’s life-long intellectual, social and emotional development and serves as a community resource and advocate for families.

Last year, the event raised over $2,500 for the OCC from ticket sales and donations. This money was used to fund tuition for low-income families and field trips for the children.

The ultimate goal of Dancing for the Children is to support the great organization while simultaneously fostering appreciation for the dance arts.

The show is presented by students Jasmine Bar, Komal Keerthy, Emma Burns, Kelly Hooper, Sarah Kaul, Madeline Elkes, Kayla Owens and Shreya Patel.

The auditorium is at 444 Pleasantville Road. To buy tickets, $15 for students; $20 general admission, or to make a donation, please click here.
