BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- After months of rehearsals and hard work, Briarcliff Middle School's production of "Honk Jr." is set to premiere this weekend.
The show is a retelling of the classic Hans Christian Anderson tale "The Ugly Duckling." The musical is set for performances throughout the weekend with shows at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. Tickets cost $10 each but some are still available for the family show at showtix4u.com .
The show's Musical Director Regina Leon said she expects people to be surprised and delighted with the show this weekend.
"Working with these 30 some-odd Briarcliff middle schoolers has been an amazing experience," Leon said in an email. "They are so smart and eager and have made a stunning transformation from middle school pre-teens to fearless singing and dancing actors in record time. Each and every one of them has as much heart as the storyline of Honk itself. I look forward to this weekend when I can see them all shine onstage and tell, sing and dance to the beautiful story of Honk."
