Well, now you can drink locally, too. A number of entrepreneurs are making their own craft beers at Westchester-based breweries.

Broken Bow Brewery – 173 Marbledale Road, Tuckahoe (914) 268-0900

“People are really getting a feel for all the different styles and flavors for craft beer,” said Kristen Stone, one of the founding partners and head of marketing at Broken Bow Brewery. “Now you have this new idea of beer and food, and when you combine localness it comes full circle.”

The family-owned brewery opened in August, offering tours and a tasting room with 12 beers on tap, including the Marbledale APA.

They use local ingredients when possible and often partner with restaurants in the area for beer-food pairings. The brewery sells kegs and cans.

Yonkers Brewing Co. – 92 Main St., Yonkers

Right now you’ll only find Yonkers Brewing Co.’s drafts at local bars, restaurants and stores throughout Westchester; be sure to check out its website for a full list.

However, the Yonkers natives who started the company plan to open their brewery to public this winter at the former Trolley Barn, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Captain Lawrence Brewing Company – 444 Saw Mill River Road, Elmsford (914) 741-2337

Brewskies from Captain Lawrence can be found flowing from local taps throughout Westchester and in bottles at local grocery stores. Its brewery and tasting room hosts public events, including an annual pig roast, as well as private parties.

Peekskill Brewery – 47-53 S. Water St., Peekskill (914) 734-BEER (2337)

In addition to a wide selection of  uniquely blended brews, this Hudson River waterfront brewery serves food. Peekskill Brewery features a full bar and offers 11 beers on tap in its tasting room, including “Amazeballs.”
