The Westchester's New Food Court Opens In White Plains

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- The new Savor food court at The Westchester in White Plains is not yet fully operational -- only Mighty Quinn's and Whitmans eateries are there -- but so far, folks seem to be enjoying the space.

On Thursday afternoon, a host of people were not just eating -- but hanging out, watching the huge flat screen TV located in the back of the space, chatting with friends, or on their laptops.

The vast space, on Level Four of the mall, is well-lit, with a modern feel and a host of seating from high bistro-style tables to picnic benches to low-slung lounge chairs. There's even a dancing fireplace, not to mention a spacious outdoor patio with comfy sofas and communal tables similar to what you'd find at a high-end hotel.

There is also an elevated dining area, which, down the road will be used for concerts.

In other words, this food court looks nothing like its previous self. Even the bathrooms have been updated with new finishes, fixtures, and lighting.

As for the food, expect burgers and cheesesteaks at Whitmans as well as prepared salads, a chicken club and veggie burger.

Those hankering for a beef fix will enjoy Mighty Quinn's, known for its authentic slow smoked barbecue (think brisket, ribs, pork and chicken).

Next to open next week at Savor Westchester: The Australian-inspired coffee destination Bluestone Lane.

Rounding out the dining options --with openings planned for later this summer -- Hai Street Kitchen, Tomato & Co and Juice Generation.
